This morning・・・

My wife has made a Marie Antoinette-style flower arrangement.  It is basically arranged by only rose flowers (i.e. without leaves).

Before arranging, she re-watched the TV programme "Super Flower Lesson by Catherine Muller" broadcasted on NHK in 2011.

This morning we harvested potatoes in the kitchen garden, that was more than we expected.

We also harvested Swiss chard in the cold frame.

Still blooming・・・

Some kind of roses are still blooming, and we are enjoying them as cut flowers.
They include 'Francois Juranville', 'Iceberg', 'Leonardo da Vinci', 'Scarborough Fair', etc., but the most glorious rose for cut flower is 'Pierre De Ronsard' (shown below).

Open Garden for Charity

The weather of this spring was generally calm and warm.  Roses bloomed a little bit earlier than the last year.

This photo was taken on 18th May, when we open our garden for charity as one of the gardens  authorized by NGS Japan.

Rosa 'Constance Spry' (left) and 'Gertrude Jekyll' (right)

More than 100 people visited our garden.  It was a sunny and nice day.

Rosa 'Angela' (pink), 'Snow Goose' (white), 'Paul's Himalayan Musk' (light pink)

Yellow flowers are Rosa 'Teasing Georgia' and orange 'Crown Princess Margareta'

The picture below is the kitchen garden (potager) with many flowers.  There are espalier apple trees and a grapevine, which are bearing small fruits. Michel, a tiny scarecrow, is keeping a good lookout for vegetables (potato, celery, chard, lettuce, etc.).

Poppy, foxglove, campanula, agrostemma, white silene...

Hello from the Petit English Garden in Japan

This is the first time to make my own blog.
For studying English, I'll write this blog in English; it will be sometimes weird :-)
英語の勉強のために英語で書いていきたいと思います(^^)

The first picture is a view in the morning from the top window of my small cottage above the Petit English Garden made by my wife MARPLE and me.

The best season of roses has almost finished, and the rainy season is coming soon.
